The triple room is attractive and well-equipped with central heating, a work desk, and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. the ambiance is special, and the setting is unbeatable, very close to Tejeda/Roque Nublo, Las Palmas, and the airport with easy-to-follow directions. the breakfast is fresh and plentiful, catering even to vegetarians - thank you for that.

Hotel Rural El Mondalón is a recent hotel in a nicely renovated old farm on the countryside. It is situated in a quiet region, yet only a twenty-minutes bus ride from Las Palmas. The restaurant is decent with okay local and non-local dishes, even if at least one dish was overly experimental for our taste (a combination of langoustine+kiwi+oranges+...). The hotel was reasonably close to a hiking ground around a volcano and close to a golf court. The personnel was friendly and helpful and the hotel owner gave us a ride to Las Palmas at the end of our stay. There is a nice pool, even though it was out of use during our stay.
If you're looking for nice locations for hiking locations in Gran Canaria, we think there are better options a bit further from Las Palmas, higher in the mountains (e.g. near Tejeda). The only place to go if you don't have a car is the nearby volcano, which can only be reached through a not signalised, not well maintained and hard to find path. The village Marzagan where the hotel is located is small and not very lively.

Our rooms were perfect and spotless with the bedroom. The staff was cooperative and amicable all the time. The location was remote, incredible in the hills outside Los Hoyos.
Everything was fantastic!

The Hotel is a converted old Farmhouse and really stil has the same authentic look. It is however very up to date with great amenities and a fabulous restaurant with comfortable terrace. The rooms have each their own characteristics, but are all very comfortable and well equipped (Stayed twice, in two different rooms during one week). The staff is not only kind, but also very helpfull 24 hrs a day. Recommending and making reservations in other restaurants is a welcome and appreciated service! Really Splendid!
The location is not easy to find as it is really of the beaten track. With gps please use the Collegio Americano as the numbering of the houses is not logical and the signs to the hotel are non- existend. However do not let this scare you away; You don't want to miss this Hotel!

Location: the hotel was right by mountains from the local national park and the local shops. Also, there was Bandama, set within 5 minutes drive. A wide array of food for breakfast, it was outstanding!

The value for money at Rural El Mondalon was unbeatable, with a spacious and comfortable room. The location was peaceful, surrounded by greenery, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
The hotel breakfast menu could use some improvement, perhaps by offering more variety or clearer instructions.

Tucked away in the mountains, this hotel offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of touristy areas. Surrounded by lush landscapes, guests can take advantage of the hotel's proximity to the caldera of Bandama and enjoy breathtaking views. the rooms are well-furnished, including spacious bathrooms and comfortable beds. Guests can also enjoy the lovely pool area and clean facilities, as well as the friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast is tasty and varied, with plenty of options to choose from.
Some guests have reported thin walls, which can make it difficult to sleep if there are noisy neighbors.

The setting was amazing with beautiful views of the countryside. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. I loved the food at the dining area, it was delicious and authentic, offering a variety of options that catered to everyone's taste. The pool area was well-maintained, allowing for relaxing moments.
It was sometimes difficult to communicate with staff as English wasn't always their strong point. The room was a bit small and could have been more spacious.

The location surrounded by mountains and hills makes this place the perfect spot for an authentic and relaxing holiday. It's not in the midst of the city, but it's really easy to get to the main towns and attractions in the area. Whether you want to explore the northern towns or venture further into the center of the island, this hotel is a good base for traveling around. Just keep in mind that there isn't much to do within walking distance, so having a car is recommended.
